The property was everything we had hoped for, great location and very well equipped including very good wifi. The large terrace is a particular feature with lovely views. Allocated parking space was essential as can get very busy in Canyelles. We have stayed in Canyelles Petites before but the standard of this property is certainly a stand out. Highly recommended.

Let me start by clarifying any possible misunderstanding in my title. The apartment is clearly invariant and high quality, it is just that Canyelles Petite, the little bay, let's call it a cove, in which this apartment is situated is almost untouched by the dross that can be found further down the coast in e.g. Tossa and Lloret. It gets very busy in high-season but that means lots of families on the beach and the need to BOOK A TABLE if you want lunch or dinner at the restaurant of your choice. In May, you may relax. I do not need to describe the apartment, there are accurate pictures on the web site and they show exactly how it is. The property is on the water front with a fine view of the Mediterranean and at any time, you can relax and listen to the waves lapping the shore. They will not drowned by the sound of a Margarita Pracatan tribute singer, hammering a keyboard, but if you want that sort of thing, then book into a hotel in the town Roses. It will cost you more. This is not the right place to name local restaurants but if like me you like walking and not driving, then there are, by mid May, 7 restaurants within easy walking range of this apartment, which can be reached, one in in 10 minutes, and the rest within 2. They range from superb, excellent, very good to "perhaps they had an off day". I leave you to discover the one that is the cheapest, excellent food and friendly service. The beach is straight out the front door and is a sun trap. The Med is not tidal so if you are a surfer, find somewhere else. Staying in an apartment like this with excellent self catering facilities you need access to a shop and right out the back door, within a minutes walk there is a Supermarket and for anyone who knows Canyelles, it was refurbed and upgraded in 2018 and it is a delight to shop there, the staff are do pleasant and if like me, your eyes open wide at a good wine deal, they have tanks where you can fill up a 2 litre bottle (provided) for 4€. They have tanks for red, white and Sangria (which costs 8€ for 2 litres but you will need to buy some cheap oranges and lemons.) It's a super Supermarket. I am trying to give a flavour for those who don't know the area, what is available in this unbelievably untouched and unspoilt part of Spain; "Costa Brava, but not as we know it Jim." If you like walking, walk. If you like swimming, swim. If you like eating, eat. If you like wine, I will give you one tip. The local wine, often the house wine and top of the list the cheapest is invariably the best. If you like the Sun, enjoy it. If you have driven hours to be there, and I sometimes reel when I see Hamburg and Lubeck or even Rostock licence plates, then pop down into Roses and take the silly chuff-chuff road train up into the National Park. Or one of the boats out to the incredible little coves up to Cadaques. To summarise, in this review, I have told you that the apartment is as advertised, but as an additive, the benefits you will encounter when you step out of the door. Oh, I nearly forgot. I am a satellite TV freak. I set up my first dish in 1987. Most hotels etc in this area will offer a TV feed based on terrestrial antenna or cable with the odd foreign channel like oh, I forget, -- 20 channels if you are lucky . This apartment has a little French sat TV box (TNT) and for those not yet up to speed, it offers over 1000 channels (midnight catch up with news) and among them, every German TV channel that every there was (NDR Hamburg or Magdeburg) and all French ones. Sky News is on channel 1079. If you want to know the restaurant to think twice about (the other six are all above threshold ((one just)) then DM me on twitter where TheProfRobin will find me. At the end of this questionnaire , I have been asked to evaluate Roses, rather than Canyelles and I have given 3 stars of 5. This is because when we started to take two holidays a year in Roses area 8 years ago, (for compulsive reasons I shall not enter into) we soon decamped from Roses to Canyelles for reasons that I have explained above. It depends what you want. Because of what I want, I give Roses 3 stars and Canyelles 5.

Just to say this is a great apartment that has everything you need in a lovely location. If you know the area and like it this is a Great place to stay. Eveline is really helpful and close by so is a great host. 5 star!

Although 2-3 days were rainy, we had great fun during our stay for a week. Everything was in order and we have nothing to worry about. Thanks to the Mrs. Sinky who was very helpful and thoughtful.
